Day1

Airport → Negombo

Arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport, welcomed by Lanka JP Tours with garland and water. Transfer to your Negombo beach hotel (10 minutes). Check in and freshen up.

Negombo → Sigiriya (via Pinnawala)

After breakfast, drive north to Sigiriya through the lush Sri Lankan countryside.

Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage Optional — established 1975, 25-acre coconut estate, 40+ resident elephants; feeding time 09:30–10:00 & 13:30–14:00 (entrance fee applies)

Sigiriya Rock Fortress Included — UNESCO World Heritage Site and "8th Wonder of the World". This 5th-century palace complex sits 200m above the surrounding jungle atop a volcanic rock monolith. Ascend past the famous Water Gardens, the lion paw gateway, the mirror wall (polished to reflect), and the exquisite frescoes of celestial maidens painted into the rock face. The panoramic views from the summit are simply extraordinary.

Sigiriya Village Tour Included — Immerse yourself in authentic Sri Lankan village life: bullock cart ride through paddy fields, catamaran boat ride on the village tank, visit to a traditional village house, hands-on cooking demonstration, and village activity showcase. A truly memorable experience.

Sigiriya → Kandy (via Matale Spice Garden)

After breakfast, drive south to Kandy — the last royal capital of Sri Lanka and a UNESCO World Heritage city.

Matale Spice Garden Included — learn about Sri Lanka's celebrated spices: cinnamon (Sri Lanka is the world's #1 producer), cloves, cardamom, black pepper, nutmeg. Enjoy a herb & spice demonstration and sample fresh spice preparations

Temple of the Tooth Relic (Sri Dalada Maligawa) Included — UNESCO World Heritage Site; houses the most sacred Buddhist relic in the world — a tooth of Lord Buddha. Witness the reverence of Buddhist worshippers in one of Sri Lanka's most spiritually charged atmospheres

Kandyan Cultural Dance Show Optional — spectacular fire dancers, plate-spinners, and traditional Kandyan dancers (entrance fee applies)

Kandy → Bentota Beach

After breakfast, drive to Bentota on the south coast via the Southern Expressway (approx. 2.5 hours).

Madu River Boat Safari Optional — navigate through 64 mangrove islands on the Madu River: mangrove cinnamon peeling demonstration, fish nurseries, island hermitage visit, kingfishers and water monitors

Bentota Water Sports Optional — jet ski, banana boat ride, tube ride at the famous Bentota Water Sports Centre

Bentota → Airport (via Colombo)

Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to Bandaranaike International Airport via Colombo (approx. 2 hours).

Colombo city tour Optional — if your flight departs in the afternoon, enjoy a brief Colombo city tour: Fort, Pettah Bazaar, Gangaramaya Temple (time permitting).

Arrive at the airport well in time for your international departure.

King Kashyapa built his entire sky palace — moats, water gardens, lion gateway, frescoes, and summit palace — between 477–495 AD. The engineering feat required constructing a hydraulic system that still pumps water through the gardens using gravity alone.

The western face of Sigiriya Rock was polished to a mirror finish using a plaster of lime, egg white, honey, and river sand — a formula so effective it still has a faint reflective quality today. Visitors carved poems on it from the 8th century onward — the oldest surviving record of Sinhala literature.
